Marking the start of the summer of sport, SPAR is launching SPARaoke Saturday’s. Whilst sporting prowess may not be your thing, cheering, singing and supporting our teams and customers is ours! We are asking loyal and local customers to get into the champion spirit and sing with us in store to win big!

Here is how you can win your shopping basket and bigger prizes for free*:

1- Hear an iconic Champion anthem in one of our one hundred stores and take part in SPARaoke Saturday!

2- Hear the song in store, grab the SPAR mic and SPARaoke it to win your basket for FREE* and become your local champion.

3- All winners of the SPARaoke Saturday competition will be entered into our Grand Prize Draw where you can win a months worth of food shopping**

Summary Terms & Conditions:

GB,18+ years of age. Promotion period Saturday 00.01 22nd June – to 23.59 Saturday 13th July 2024. No purchase necessary.

To enter this instore promotion, visit a participating SPAR store on the date and at the time they are holding the instore promotion. The claxon will sound on SPAR in store radio, you need to grab the inflatable mic that can be located instore and sing along to the song for a minimum of 30 seconds. Winner will receive their basket of shopping (up to the value of £9.99).  One winner, per song play, per store only. Store winners will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a months’ worth of food shopping (up to the value of £559). One winner of the grand prize.

Prizes to be won during the total promotion period; Total prize fund value during the promotional period: Up to the value of £13,016.52. Prizes to be in the form of winning free in store perishable items or money off vouchers. All prizes exclude alcohol, cigarettes, vape, Tabacco, Paypoint, fuel, Lottery and services. Money off vouchers to be used towards the winners shop on the day of the event. Vouchers only valid in the participating store. No cash alternatives can be issued.

Full Terms and Conditions:

  1. The promotor of the promotions described within these terms is A.F. Blakemore and Son Ltd, Longacres Industrial Estate, Rose Hill, Willenhall, West Midlands, WV13 2JP (the “Promotor”).
  2. All entry instructions form part of these terms & conditions of entry (The Terms & conditions). By entering SPARaoke at participating SPAR store. You are deemed to having accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions of entry.
  3. Entry into any or all of the Promotions is only open to residents of Great Britain (and is not open to residents of Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands) aged 18 or over, excluding employees of the Promoter and anyone professionally associated with any of the Promotions in all forms.

Instore prize promotion

  1. The Instore Prize Promotions will kickstart from Saturday 22nd June , running 4 weeks at participating SPAR stores (promotional stores) Promotional stores running the instore prize promotion a maximum of times a day but at their discretion (Instore prize promotion period)
  2. To enter the Instore Prize Promotion, you will need to visit a Promotion Store on the day and at the time it is holding an Instore Prize Promotion and wait for the ‘We are the Champions’ song to come on in the store via the SPAR radio. Only one person can participate per airing of song. Only one winner per airing of the song. Must sing the song for a minimum of 30 seconds.
  3. Entrance into the instore prize promotion is strictly for over 18+ years old and there will only be a maximum of 3 winners per day at participating SPAR stores.
  4. All participation in an Instore Prize Promotion must be done strictly in accordance with the instructions of the SPAR personnel instore to operate the Instore Prize Promotion,
  5. There is a total value of £1247.52 prizes available to win throughout all the instore prize promotions combined (each being an ‘instore prize’), consisting of one of the following: voucher for up to £9.99 of your shop.
  6. For the shop vouchers, this excludes fuel, alcohol, medication cigarettes and tobacco related products. Paypoint lottery and services. This voucher can only be used at a participating SPAR stores as part of payment. This voucher cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other voucher. This offer is subject to availability.
  7. Instore prizes will be allocated based on the participants entering SPARaoke and singing along to the ‘We are the Champions’ song for a minimum of 30 seconds.

Grand Prize Promotion

  1. As part of the grand prize promotion, there will be up to 1248 opportunities to enter the grand prize promotion. As the grand prize promotion could run for 4 days and each promotional store has the choice to run the promotion up to 3 times a day.
  2. The grand prize promotion will be live, and entries will be accepted from 00.01 BST on 22nd June 2024 to 13th July 2024 at 23.59 BST (the grand prize promotion period) Entries received outside of the grand prize promotional periods will not be included.
  3. The grand prize available to be won are: x1 £559 SPAR in-store voucher which will be given away every at the end of the promotional period. The winner will be contacted directly via the information shared at the web form with 48 hours to claim the prize before then another winner is chosen.
  4. Entry into the grand prize is automatic. The winner will be chosen at complete random.
  5. The probability of winning a Grand Prize will be based on a comparison of the number of entries during the promotion period in question versus the number of prizes available during the promotion period in question for the Grand Prize draw.

General Terms and Conditions

  1. The Promoter’s decision regarding any aspect of the Promotions is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it. The Promoter reserves the right to replace any of the Instore Prizes or Grand Prizes with an alternative Instore Prize or Grand Prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter's control makes it necessary to do so.
  2. Winners will be notified as follows:
  3. Instore Prizes – In person at the time you’ve won in store, where you will either be given your voucher to redeem in person or sent to you via email.
  4. Grand Prizes – By SMS message, social media, email or by telephone call, where they will be given the details of how to claim their prize. If a winner does not follow the prize claim instructions given or fails to answer when being notified about their prize, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and return the Grand Prize to the prize pool, where the draw will be re-run with all other eligible entrants and a replacement winner selected.
  5. Neither the Instore Prizes or the Grand Prizes are transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for any other form of compensation.
  6. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend or amend any of the Promotions where it becomes necessary to do so.
  7. No responsibility can be taken for entries which are lost, delayed, corrupted, damaged, misdirected or incomplete or which cannot be delivered for any technical, delivery or other reason.
  8. The Promoter is not responsible in the event that a winner fails to receive their prize as a result of having provided inaccurate or incorrect contact details or failing to claim their prize in time.
  9. The Promoter may request that the winners participate in publicity arising from any of the Promotions.
  10. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants. The Promoter may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose and a prize may be withheld unless and until the Promoter is satisfied with the verification. 
  11. As far as permitted by law, the Promoter together with any associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss, expense or damage which is suffered or sustained in connection with this Promotion or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability caused by the Promoter’s negligence. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
  12. An entry must be made directly by an individual acting in their personal capacity. Bulk entries into any of the Promotions from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted. Incomplete or illegible entries and entries submitted by macros or other automated means together with entries which do not satisfy the requirements of these Terms & Conditions in full will be disqualified and will not be counted. If it becomes apparent that an entrant is using a computer(s) to circumvent this condition by trying to increase their entries into any of the Promotions in a way that is not consistent with the rules of any of the Promotions, that entrant’s entries will be disqualified, and any prize awarded will be void.
  13. The Promoter may refuse to award a prize in the event of any entrant’s fraud, dishonesty, breach, or non-entitlement under these Terms & Conditions or seek recovery of its value if the Instore Prize or Grand Prize has been awarded.
  14. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  15. Any and all personal data provided by you in connection with any of the Promotions will be used solely by the Promoter (or its appointed agents) to: (i) assist with running the Promotions; and/or (ii) conduct analytics to improve the Promoter’s promotions, products or services. The Promoter (or its appointed agents) will not contact you for reasons other than the Promotions unless you have provided your express consent.
  16. Except where a winner has requested that their details are not shared, the winners' details (abbreviated names only) will be available for a period of 30 days from the end of the Grand Prize Promotion Period by emailingmarketing@afblakemore.co.uk, using “SPAR Winners’ List” in the subject line. The Promoter will provide this information to the Advertising Standards Authority on reasonable request.

  18. These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law and their interpretation and application will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
